Sports Medicine Acupuncturist

Sharing the journey from patient to doctor

Today, I am the founder of Nina Acupuncture in Westport, Connecticut, where I provide personalized, evidence-based acupuncture for pain management, sports injuries, nervous system regulation, women's health, and holistic healing.

Before transitioning into healthcare, I led what many would see as a successful life—balancing a career as a merchandising manager in Norwalk with practicing licensed massage therapy and esthetics. Outside of work, I stayed active as a dancer and athlete. But beneath that outward achievement, I was profoundly burned out. By the age of 38, years of chronic stress had taken a serious toll, leaving me in constant, widespread pain, low immunity and searching desperately for answers.

Acupuncture became a turning point for me. After years of treatment, my acupuncturist made a simple suggestion: “You should become an acupuncturist.” That single comment opened a door I never imagined. Through this medicine, I not only found relief but experienced true transformation. I went from enduring fibromyalgia-like pain to living fully and pain-free—without medication. When faced with another condition that seemed destined for surgery, acupuncture once again provided a natural, effective path to healing.

I am a Board-Certified Diplomate in Acupuncture through the National Certification Board for Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine (NCBAHM). I hold a Doctorate in Acupuncture from Pacific College of Health Sciences and have extensive training in Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Sports Medicine Acupuncture Certification Program, the Electro Acupuncture Institute, and Trigger Point Therapy.

My additional clinical training in theoretical and clinical acupuncture, moxibustion, Tuina (Chinese medical bodywork), and health preservation at Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China further enriches my practice.

Today, I bring this firsthand experience to my practice. I specialize in treating both chronic and acute pain conditions—including back and neck pain, sports injuries, knee and shoulder pain, sciatica, and post-surgical recovery—as well as stress, anxiety, insomnia, digestive issues, respiratory congestion, and women’s health concerns such as infertility, pregnancy support, and postpartum care. By integrating Traditional Chinese Medicine with evidence-based approaches, I help patients move beyond symptom management toward lasting balance and restoration.

My initial visit is 90 minutes, and the follow-up is 60 minutes, because I believe healing begins with being truly heard with a customized treatment plan.

Time and again, I have witnessed the body’s remarkable ability to heal—whether by alleviating illness without depending on heavy medication, providing alternatives when surgery isn't the only answer, or accelerating recovery when it matters most.

Lifestyle Medicine is another cornerstone of my practice. I am certified in Lifestyle and Wellness Coaching through Harvard Medical School Executive Education. Each year, I offer The Circadian Retreat—an immersive program designed to help participants reset and synchronize their biological clocks with nature. This retreat optimizes alignment between internal organs and the body’s natural rhythms through workshops, Qigong, Yoga, breath work, and a compassionate community.

My vision is to help people reconnect with their bodies, build resilience, and experience a deeper sense of well-being. When one person heals, that healing extends outward—creating a meaningful ripple through families, communities, and beyond.
